Scholarships. And other great ideas.

The Mission

Providing students, professionals and the public with a broader awareness of the economic and social value of advertising, and respect for high industry standards fulfills a AAF Duluth/Superior and an American Advertising Federation objective to advance and improve advertising education and, consequently, positively affect the future of our industry.

The Purpose

The AAF Duluth/Superior Scholarship Program was established by AAF Duluth/Superior in 1991 to assist talented post-secondary students in their studies of advertising and related fields. The scholarship wishes to award students who, in addition to showing creativity and promise, have demonstrated leadership qualities through employment, participation in school and community activities, volunteer work and/or projects.

Guidelines

This year the Student scholarship fund will be coupled with the Student Addy Awards. The newly designed program will be called (take a deep breath) the AAF D/S Student Addy /Scholarship Competition.

RULES (PDF)

Submitted Materials Guideline

Students will be able to submit work that they’ve done from their personal portfolio, course assignments or clubs they have been active in.  Only solo projects (individuals) will be accepted.

JUDGING

Judging will be similar to judging of professional entries. Each judge will give each entry a numerical score. The scores will be tallied and the 10 (or so) entries with the highest scores will be presented to the judges. Judges will then award prizes through discussion.

SUBMISSION METHOD

Students should visit www.addycompetition.com and click on “Enter” to enter the ADDYs. They will be directed to the competition site and login as an entrant.
The physical entries must be placed inside an appropriately-sized envelope. The NAC recommends transparent, plastic envelopes found in most office supply stores and catalogs. Manila-type envelopes may also be used.
