Music Opens Doors

Thanks to everyone who attended—or helped organize and promote—the April 4 concert at St. Scholastica. “Music Opens Doors” featured local bands, poets and first-person testimonials about living without a home in the Northland. Billed as a “consciousness-raising” event, it also raised $3,380 for Heading Home St. Louis County, a ten-year effort to end homelessness in the region.

Heading Home

AAF Duluth/Superior continues to help St. Louis County’s Heading Home effort—with design services, consulting and promotions support. In late April, look for the following billboard in the front of the Government Services Center in Duluth. The design concept was created by a student team that applied for and won an AAF Duluth/Superior scholarship this winter. Learn more about how you can help: www.headinghomeminnesota.org/saint-louis

Wanted: ambitious self-starters
Join the board: You might be perfect for the AAF Duluth/Superior board of directors. Seriously. If you’re interested in learning more about soon-to-be vacant seats on the board, contact Nicole Sandman.

Join the Script: If you can spell your name (or, more importantly, other people’s names) with relatively few typos, consider signing up for a stint on the Script. We’re always looking for contributors. Or, think big, and edit the community’s favorite monthly report on AAF, starting in August 2009. Learn more
