1/13/2010
ADDYs: Come judge the judges
Or just be social and join us from 5-7 pm Friday, January 15 at the TimberLodge Steakhouse, 325 S. Lake Ave. in Duluth, as we welcome our guests to the Northland for ADDYs judging weekend.
For those of you who like to research people before you say “hello” (um, no, that’s not creepy at all), here’s a little background on this year’s judges:
- Nate Custard, director of strategy and a founding partner at Thought District, a brand strategy and design agency in Lincoln, Nebraska. Beyond his focus on helping category leaders in the B2B manufacturing industry, Nate works on projects for a wide range of brands, including: Panasonic Toughbooks, the Midwest’s most award-winning winery, Habitat for Humanity, the world’s largest hobby franchise and a top North American fire truck company, among others. He also serves as creative director and senior copywriter on many Thought District accounts.
- Amy Jarrard, a Minnesota native who is currently a senior writer at Seattle-based Publicis in the West, has worked at various ad agencies, including Campbell-Mithun and Colle + McVoy in Minneapolis. She’s created work for clients such as T-Mobile, HP, Washington Lottery, Les Schwab, Toro, Minnesota Lottery, Explore Minnesota Tourism, Target, Key Bank and H&R Block.
- Dan O’Saben, chief communications officer of Hughes in St. Louis, acts as creative director to a team with clients ranging from Subway and Enterprise Rent-A-Car to National Geographic and YMCA of Greater St. Louis. During the past 20 years, he’s worked as a creative director and art director, handling accounts in healthcare, the arts, sports, resorts and more, while helping create an interactive division at Hughes. He previously worked for the in-house agencies of Ralston Purina, and has judged numerous ADDY competitions.
